During the early 1980's, Pizza Hut® created a reading motivation program for children in grades K-6 called the BOOK IT!® National Reading Incentive Program. More than 20 million students participate in the program every year, which rewards them for their reading accomplishments with free pizza, praise and recognition.

The folks at Pizza Hut® think reading is so important that they created another reward and recognition program in the late 1990's called BOOK IT!® Beginners. This program encourages teachers to read aloud to young children in preschool and pre-kindergarten so that they'll develop a love of books and reading at an early age. More than one-and-a-half million youngsters are participating in the 2001 program. Large Group Orders (Discounts) for Large Groups are available at all of our Locations. Whether it's a church, school, or a non-profit, we'll be more than happy to accomodate your group! Please inquire at your Local High Plains Pizza Hut for more information regarding Large Group Orders.

If you have an order for more than 20 pizzas, we would appreciate 24 hours advance notice. Please, contact your local High Plains Pizza Hut to inquire about your special needs or for further assistance.

High Plains Pizza, Inc. believes in community involvement. Our team members are encouraged and supported to become members of their local chamber of commerce, become involved in local boards, advisory councils to other organizations, etc. Giving time and leadership back to the communities where we derive our sales and profits is the right thing to do.

Fundraising opportunities

We work with local schools and community organizations to assist them in raising money for their group. Some of our most common fundraising activities include:

Work-share evenings whereby a local organization shares some of the work in the restaurant for a particular period of time in exchange for a percentage of sales generated during that period of time.

Fundraising discount card sales allows a group to sell a Pizza Hut® value card for a variety of Pizza Hut® discounts redeemable at participating Pizza Hut's in exchange for a portion of the proceeds from the card sales.

Car Wash-Availability of parking lot and access to water for groups to use when holding car washes at certain dine-in restaurants.
